Small Changes Make a Big Difference

It is down to all of us to change the ways we live.

Now more than ever we need to move from this throw away culture to re-using, recycling and re-purposing where possible.

Since we created Oddly Wild in September 2017, we have been incredibly conscious of the materials we use for both our products and our packaging. It has always been important to us to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

When we began designing our clocks, we looked at various possible materials. It was essential to us that we balanced both the look and quality of the product, whilst ensuring that the materials we used were as sustainable as possible.

In the end we opted to make our clocks from wood, and are very proud and excited to announce that we are now supporting Just One Tree. For every clock purchased from our website or Etsy Shop, we will be making a £1 donation to the charity, who will in turn plant one tree. We also spent a lot of time looking at our clock packaging. We settled on cardboard pizza style boxes with card internal packaging. This has meant they can be securely and safely shipped, whilst also being fully recyclable. We have also chosen to use biodegradable, eco-parcel bags for all clock shipments.

More recently we have looked at our DIY sewing kit packaging, and have reduced our plastic bag usage, by opting for paper bags to hold the felt pieces, cottons and needles.

The kit boxes also come with internal Oddly Wild patterned tissue paper, form No Issue, and for every order placed with them, they will plant a tree.

It is everyone's responsibility to be make small changes to the way they live, to help protect the world for future generations. Here at Oddly Wild we will continue to strive to make a difference and to re-use, re-purpose and re-create wherever possible.
